These pictures were all taken Saturday, December 19, 2009 during Snowpocalypse 2009, which dumped about 20 inches of snow on the Baltimore area. Noel and I went for a long walk through Patterson Park about 10AM–right smack in the middle of the blizzard–and these are some of my favorite scenes!

Baltimore has such a wonderfully chilling gothic charm about it when blanketed with snow. Great photos!

I love this! I love how beautiful it looks in your neck of the woods!

Glad you survived the big snowstorm.
Those are beautiful pictures. I think we’ll remain content to watch from a distance :)

Just a little snow, eh???

I heard it was insane. No school Mon and Tues, but didn;t hear about today.

Melinda–most of the schools shut down for the whole week, and the Federal government in DC (sadly not in Bmore) closed on Monday. It was quite the event!

Glad to see someone else getting all the snow this year. Last year we were buried with about 4 feet but only have about 4 inches today on the ground. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas on this WW!

Your pics are great! The first snow is always beautiful. Actually, I love walking outside the evening of the first snowfall of the season… but, after that, I know I will have to live with it for at least 4 months (and I grew up in a place where the first snowfall is in October and the last snowfall is in April or May), so I get bored. I would love to live in a place where there is not so much snow…. Maybe then I would appreciate it when there is some :)

Weirdly, In Toronto, we only got maybe 1 inch of snow this year. That does not correspond to my definition of Canadian winters (as I love to call them). But I am happy about that :).
