This picture was taken at sunset in St. Michael’s, MD January 23, 2010. This is usually a bustling marina, but it was deserted, and so calm, the water was like glass.

How tranquil….I love the bird’s reflection the best!

Very relaxing. Nice photo. Happy WW!

Shelly January 27, 2010 at 8:24 am

Beautiful landscape shot. That water looks ready to freeze over.

Happy WW~

The water is tidal (close to the mouth of a tributary to the Chesapeake Bay) so I wonder if it ever freezes. Certainly not on this 40 degree day.

So these were from your trip this weekend! how serene :-)

I am having a hard time figuring out where you are in that pic… I see the Crab Claw & the museum, but how did you get to where you took this pic? (I used to live in St Michael’s on a boat at the museum!)

Look how still and calm the water is. Lovely and peaceful.

I like the reflections of the docks in the water. Combined with the original they make an interesting geographic design.

Beth January 27, 2010 at 11:28 am

Kate-I walked as far out as I could go on those docks across from the Crab Claw. The whole area was completely deserted, so I figured I better take the opportunity to walk around and explore!

That’s so cool you lived there-it was really beautiful.

gorgeous…i can hear the stillness

I love coastal views like that, flat and calm. Very nice.

Stayed there in the fall once. Very cold, but very nice. Not much for lunch time food, but dinner was covered just steps away from the B&B.

What a perfect reflection and a beautiful spot. Great shot.

Kitchen Butterfly January 27, 2010 at 2:52 pm

A wonderful place to reflect….

Love this picture! My river right out my front door basically is frozen over – at this point of the winter I am about done and ready to get the damn grill out! :D

Denise | Chez Danisse January 28, 2010 at 12:54 pm

So peaceful.

It’s funny you say that (of DB) because I joined to improve my baking skills, since I hardly bake. But now that I’ve gone through 3 months of it, I am realizing that maybe I don’t bake because I don’t like sweet stuff! :)
