This weekend, I had a bit of a crisis.
There is no recipe here today, thanks to said crisis.
You see on Friday night I did something very, very stupid. Apparently, while hauling all of my stuff in from my car after work/gym on Friday night, I somehow dropped my iPhone on the seat of my car. And then I proceeded to forget to lock my car. Anyone can tell you this a potentially deadly combination. When I realized my phone was missing about 2 hours later, it was too late. The phone was gone. No amount of frantic searching was going to turn it up.
At first, I was ready to deal with the consequences of my actions. That lasted for about, oh, 12 hours. By midday on Saturday I was having the classic signs of withdraw…cold sweats, mild panic attacks, the works. I even “borrowed” (or stole) Noel’s iPhone at one point in hopes of getting a fix.
And this is where I owe the BIG thank you! My friend Tony G had just upgraded his iPhone 3g to a 4, and he offered to let me use his old phone until I could figure out a permanent solution. So after about an hour in line at the AT&T store today, I’m back online again. Phew! And to make things even better, it seems my iTunes is smart enough to restore my phone. I won’t curse that iTunes autoplay business any more! That’s my new to me iPhone in the picture above, ready to help me through.
And to thank you Tony G (if you’re reading) know I’m on standby to bake/cook you whatever you want, whenever you want. No need to wait for your birthday…because you saved me, big time!
We’ll return to our regular recipe programming once I fully recover from this weekend’s trauma!

I am so behind on technology. But I did finally get a phone that has one of those little keyboards for typing text messages. So yeah, I’m feeling pretty advanced now.
But I can see how it would be hard to part with an iPhone once you have one. We spent the weekend with an iPhone user, and everytime we had a question – “How do you make salted caramel ice cream?” for example – he could look up the answer. It was so nice!
Good thing you didn’t have to part with one for too long!
Jen–I think if I had been without an iPhone too long it would have led to some serious relationship issues. I wouldn’t have been able to handle watching Noel surf happily while I was stranded. He did do a good job of trying to keep me calm, but I know he was scared I would snatch his phone at any second!
I am always happy to help. Now let’s get back to the food goodness. (typed while enjoying the jam you gave me.)
Alright Tony! I am going to make you something other than jam though as a thank you!
Hooray for saving the day Tony! My phone is so basic, my husband kids that my next phone will be a jitterbug – you know the one for senior citizens that only calls your kids and 911!
Whew, glad crisis was averted!
Yeah Tony – I know how helpless I was when my droid decided to learn to swim.
I totally feel your pain. I was without my Blackberry for a weekend a few weeks back, and definitely was more than a little antsy.
Oh no…….sorry Beth. While I’m not upgraded – mind, body and soul to 3G phones, I know pple who live by theirs, for everything from the weather to blogging!
