I love tall ships, and so pretty at night with the lights.

i recognize that ‘crew only’ sign – lady maryland, my love! i worked on her in ’06 for a season. wish i’d seen the ships in the inner harbor! (i did get to see them in norfolk the weekend before.)

Gorgeous pics B! My Dad always wanted to go on a tall ship – he even built a scale model of one, mast and all and used to “sail” it on our car in the alley. Sadly he died before he had a chance to do it – but tall ships always remind me of him. :D

Wow, that anniversary snuck up on me. I am assuming is it quite an event for Baltimore :)

This tall ships were anchored around the Baltimore Harbor for Sailabration, the official national kickoff of the War of 1812 commemoration. The War is a big deal in Maryland and especially in Baltimore (we even have commemorative license plates!) and I expect the celebration will be even bigger in 2014 when we commemorate the end of the war and the writing of the national anthem.

Kate, that’s so cool you worked on the Lady Maryland!
