A BBC Reception

This past weekend we had one last celebration in honor of Kori and Larry’s wedding. And boy was it a big one.

When Kori and Larry decided they wanted a destination wedding, they also decided that they wanted to do a bigger celebration at home so they could celebrate with more friends and family. They looked around at locations, but then realized that they had a nearly perfect venue (unless it rained) the Broadkill Beach Club! There was space, a place to dance, and a beach!

So they ordered a TON of food from our favorite place to eat, Po Boys, got a bunch of Dogfish Head beer and a few boxes of wine and borrowed every easy up and lawn chair in the neighborhood. And got ready to ready to party!!

Oh yes, and we ha many many balloons!

So my big contribution to the party were these–about 140 cupcakes. Because really, why mess with what I do best? I went into cupcake overdrive mode on Friday afternoon and cranked all of these out in about three hours. Yes, I had three ovens, but still, that might be a cupcake record! Eileen helped with the icing while we made a food run Friday night. These were a huge hit–lots of people coming back for multiple cupcakes, which I always like to see!

After setup, and settling our awesome singer John Flynn in, we just focused on having a really fun time. In this case, what happens at the BBC stays at the BBC, but let’s just say, there was a ridiculous amount of fun!

Soon the afternoon was getting late and it was time for the toasts. Both dad’s stepped up to the mike and offered well wishes for the couple.

The happy couple

And then we partied the night away. It was truly epic. The best party yet in a place known for great parties. I’m so happy that everyone came out to celebrate with Kori and Larry. And I can’t wait to keep celebrating life with them.
