And like that, vacation is over and I’m back in the cold. Nothing quite like that to bring you back to reality! And I’m someone that LIKES the cold! Puerto Rico was the perfect way for me to say goodbye to one all around fantastic year (for me) and to welcome in a new one, sure to be full of just as many new adventures, and some old ones too.
So although I’ve never done one of these before, and the new year has passed us by, I wanted to take a few minutes to remember some of my top moments from 2012.
I seriously STILL get chills thinking about this race. It was pratically perfect in every way (yes, I do love Mary Poppins!). From running around the resort to smashing my 2 hour goal, to being there with Noel and my Dad, it was a magical experience.
2. My Sister’s Wedding and all the Fesitivites
My sister and I have grown very close over the last few years, and I was so happy to be there with her on the big day. And we got a great family vacation out of the whole affair to boot!
Everything about that trip felt a little magical, from drinking with the faeries on the Ring of Kerry to a night of storytelling in Dublin. But I think that meal at Jim Edwards in Kinsale–and those oysters–will be with me forever. And so will those memories with my friends and my husband!
4. Wine Exploration!
I know this sounds weird, since I’ve loved wine for a good long time, but 2012 was the year that I really got to know wine, especially good LOCAL wine. From Boordy events to a birthday weekend in Virginia Wine Country, this was definitely an ongoing favorite theme through the year!
Peacock friends, suspects friends, and two half marathons in 24 hours. Nuff said.
There were so many other wonderful things in 2012, from New York City to the beaches of Delaware. Fantastic food, including Victoria and Albert’s, which I never got around to blogging about! All around, a great year in my books!
