This past Tuesday was Mardi Gras AND Noel’s birthday! What a happy alignment of dates. So when Noel spotted an event at one of our favorite local liquor stores, Chesapeake Wine Company, we were all in with a group of friends.
This event was a lot of fun. And really, I shouldn’t expect anything less from Chesapeake, because they always are having a good time there. We’ve been to wine tastings before, or even just stopped in to hang out, and we always have a good experience. But this event was over the top. Great food, great drinks, fun band.
There were so many food and beverage choices, but we decided to start off with a round of French 75s, since we were celebrating.
And then food! Everything was delicious, but our favorites were the chicken and the green beans. Fresh beans, pickled since summer and then deep fried. Yes, I loved them.
After dinner, we cut the King Cake. No one at our table had the baby, but it was still a fun tradition.
And then, after all the food was gone, it was time to dance! The band was rocking, and the crowd got up on their feet. There was even a conga line!
Great for one of our favorite places to throw such a great party for Noel, right?!
