So yeah, I never meant to take December, January, and MOST of FEBRUARY off from blogging. It just sort of happened. It was the holidays, I traveled a bunch, and life got crazy. I hope to go back and blog about some of those things, because some of them were truly awesome. And if nothing else (I’m not sure anyone is still reading this thing) I want to document them for myself.
Like see, I went to Aruba! That was awesome!
I also spent most of the last three months recovering from a seriously bad case of posterior tibial tendonitis. Never heard of it? Well, it is severe inflammation of the tendon that runs on the inside of your shin bone. I’ve had it on and off the whole time I’ve run, but apparently running a marathon and totally slacking off on all strength training really aggravated it! My wonderful PT, Dave Bender at Bare Hills Physical Therapy got me running again just before Christmas, and I’ve been slowly building my running back up. Being injured always sucks, but being injured right after the triumph of the marathon was really hard for me, and honestly, since so much of this blog has become about running, it was just hard to write. But now I’m back, and I’m racing! Well, racing is a loose term–but I am Florida bound for this weekend’s Disney Princess Half Marathon. I’ve got an awesome costume planned and I’m ready to go, have a good time, and celebrate that I’m back on the road. And hopefully back to blogging!
